Aïcha is the first name of Salma’s grandmother, a young weaver from the Khenifra region. As a child, Salma loved to listen to her grandmother’s stories, sitting by the fire while she wove. One day, Aïcha showed her how to interpret colors as emotions, and shapes as life paths. This carpet was born of this sacred transmission. The broken lines symbolize hardship, the touches of green hope, and the reds the passion that drives the heart. Salma and her sister have woven this carpet to tell their own story, while paying homage to the woman who taught them to tell without words.
