This carpet was imagined and created by two sisters, Zaynab and Halima, from a small village on the outskirts of the Middle Atlas mountains. Both dreamed of continuing their studies, but lacked the means to do so. Rather than give up, they decided to take up the craft their mother had passed on to them: weaving.
For several weeks, every evening after their chores, they gathered around the loom. One prepared the colors, the other drew the patterns. Each lozenge, each woven symbol tells a part of their story – the camels, symbols of travel and resistance; the geometric shapes, echoes of their desire to build a solid future; and the warm hues, reflection of their unbreakable bond.
This carpet is a declaration of love to feminine courage, a silent manifesto that dreams are also woven with the hands.
